I’ve been nominated…

This is news for me, as much as it is for you. Albeit good news, Alhamdulillah. I hadn’t heard of Liebster awards before and only noticed by chance that I’d been nominated by Khawlah ❤ http://www.muslimahmisunderstood.com – May Allah reward you for your beautiful blog, honest words and obedience to Allah SWT.

The Liebster awards are open to all bloggers who have less than 200 followers and is a great way to find new blogs that spark your interest and get your name out there.

So here goes!

  1. I respond to the questions that Khawlah put forward in her post.
  2. I then come up with 11 new questions for other bloggers to respond to
  3. These ‘other bloggers’ are 5-11 new bloggers who I tag in this post, who will then go on to answer the questions and write their own posts with new questions, directed to bloggers who they tag.
  4. And the chain continues…!

AND HERE ARE MY QUESTIONS TO YOU:

    1. WHAT’S THE FIRST THING YOU DO WHEN YOU WAKE UP IN THE MORNING?

It all depends, sometimes I run to the bathroom to pee. Other times, I pray Fajr if I have missed it although I try not to do this often (May Allah forgive us and protect us from Shaytan) and sometimes I open the curtains welcoming in the sunshine.

    1. IF YOU COULD CHOOSE ANYTHING, WHAT YOU BE YOUR DREAM GIFT TO RECEIVE?

A library. Of many kinds of books and comfortable chairs to read in.

    1. WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE MONTH OF THE YEAR, AND WHY?

Ramadan. This beautiful, blessed month is all about Allah and for that, I love it.

    1. IF THE INTERNET DIDN’T EXIST, AND BLOGGING WASN’T A VIABLE TOOL FOR PUBLISHING YOUR THOUGHTS, WHAT MEDIUM WOULD YOU USE AS YOUR TOOL FOR SELF-EXPRESSION?

Good question! I think I would go mad, literally. I really enjoy getting my thoughts out there and finding other like minded people who enjoy my work. I write every single day, sometimes just a small note other times thousands of words… depending on my mood. Writing is something I enjoy doing, it relaxes me and makes me feel productive. It goes hand in hand with reading. I really enjoy reading books and other blogs.

    1. WHERE WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO LIVE IN THE WORLD, OTHER THAN YOUR CURRENT HOME COUNTRY?

My home country is Scotland however for the past 5 years I have lived in Egypt. I would be happy anywhere as long as I have Allah. I have no plans to move abroad, again however I definitely have a very long, long bucket list of places I would like to visit including: Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Lebanon, Greece, Iceland, Thailand….

    1. WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE CHILDHOOD MEMORY?

I used to enjoy spending time with my older brother, unfortunately we hardly see each other anymore but we were really close when we were children. I thank Allah for giving me a wonderful sibling who protected me and cared for me throughout my childhood days. I particularly remember the day I pushed him into a pond. LOL.

    1. IF I CAME TO VISIT YOU IN YOUR HOMETOWN, WHAT WOULD YOU PLAN FOR OUR DAY?

I would take you to the beach in the morning as it’s nice and quiet and we could swim in the beautiful, breathe-taking Red Sea! We would then enjoy a beautiful home-cooked Egyptian meal with family for company and in the evening we could do some shopping and visit the masjid, or whatever you preferred.

    1. ARE YOU A MORNING PERSON OR AN EVENING PERSON?

Definitely an evening person, I hate mornings. (I actually love mornings I just struggle with them)

    1. IS THERE ANYTHING YOU WOULD CHANGE ABOUT YOUR LIFE?

Everything I have I am grateful for, I am aware that life’s circumstances can change at any moment. Allah will increase us if we are grateful so I truly thank Allah for everything I have and everything I don’t have.

    1. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TODAY/PLAN TO DO TODAY TO SHOW A LITTLE LOVE TO YOURSELF?

Today I did plan on actually looking after myself, I like to look after my skin and do face masks unfortunately, I cleaned the house instead *priorities* and wrote this blog post.

    1. SHARE WITH ME YOUR FAVOURITE QUOTE:

“The realest things in this life are the things you can’t see. If you can see it, its probably an illusion.”
    – Yasmin Mogahed

What a surprise!! Jazak Allahul khair. 😊

I loved reading your answers. It is evident from your posts that you are a voracious reader. I hope you get to live close to a library. Then, when you return home, may you blog all about the books you read.
