One of the names of Allah is Al-Wali – The Protecting Associate.
The Protecting Friend, The Supporter.
There’s nothing worse than feeling lonely. As a believer you should never allow yourself to feel lonely because you have Allah. When people hurt you and it hurts us so much that we are not able to focus in our Prayers. Remember, the more you focus on Allah outside your salah, the easier it will be to focus on Him inside your salah. What occupies you in salah, is what occupies you outside of salah. Try to fill your mind and heart with Allah as much as you can throughout your day. Talk to Him, make duaa to Him constantly. This will build your personal relationship with Him. Then, going to salah will be like coming home to an old friend.
“Indeed, my Protector is Allah Who has sent down the Book and He protects the righteous.” Surah 7 Ayah 196; Holy Qur’an.
Throughout the Qur’an you’ll find that Allah subḥānahu wa ta’āla always comforts us for the various situations we may go through in life.
For example, when we feel overwhelmed, Allah reminds us:
“Allah burdens not a person beyond his scope”
At times of difficulty, He subḥānahu wa ta’āla gives us glad tidings:
“Verily, with every difficulty there is relief.”
At times when we lose something or fail to attain something:
“But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not.”
And so much more. Yet, how many times has one of us faced a difficulty and forgotten that He is Al Wali? How weak is our emaan that we FAIL to believe in the words of our Rabb Who has given us glad tidings of being patient, Who has informed us that no matter how big a test we’re facing, we have the capacity to handle it, and, Who has given us the glad tidings of 2 reliefs after every 1 calamity.
If our emaan was strong, instead of wailing, screaming and swearing at times of difficulty, we would endure patiently and wait eagerly for the moments of ease and the great reward that lies just around the corner…
Don’t substitute anyone on earth as your best friend over Allah subḥānahu wa ta’āla. Some people don’t care about your problems, others are glad you have them. Only Allah knows your heart. Being alone with Allah is better than being crowded by people who have forgotten Allah.
