So if all lives matter then why is there almost no media attention for 250+ Iraqis dead in ONE suicide bombing but round the clock coverage of 80+ dead in Nice. There’s a clear hypocrisy in the way our leaders will be so quick to proclaim that “All lives matter.”
The question begs, is there no other news worth reporting? Did nobody else die today?
Yesterday also marked 21 years since the Bosnian war. The greatest genocide in Europe since the Holocaust in World War 2. Over the span of two days more than 8372 Muslim men and boys were massacred while the Muslim women and girls faced unspeakable torture and rape. But this wasn’t mentioned on the news. There are no Bosnian flags on social media as a mark of respect for the lives lost…

It’s also worthwhile noting that statistics show that living in America you’re 53 times more likely to be killed by a cop than by a terrorist attack. If you think you are innocent because you don’t watch news channels and you don’t have any political opinions so therefore you aren’t doing anything wrong? right? No. Wrong. Why?
Ignoring the situation is helping the situation. White privilege is real and your voice counts…
You don’t have to be Muslim to stick up for other Muslims. You don’t have to be black to stick up for black people. You just have to be human and follow your heart.
Allah commands us in the Qur’an,
O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm in justice, witnesses for Allah , even if it be against yourselves or parents and relatives. Whether one is rich or poor, Allah is more worthy of both. So follow not [personal] inclination, lest you not be just. And if you distort [your testimony] or refuse [to give it], then indeed Allah is ever, with what you do, Acquainted.
– Surah 4 Ayah 135.
As Muslims we care about all lives lost. Every single one. There is no prejudice in the Islamic Faith. Allah is clear that we must do the right thing under all circumstances. Every day I find myself praying for humanity to get better; and to follow the teachings of Muhammad (Sall Allāhu ʿalay-hi wa-sallam) i.e None of us truly believe until we love for others what you we love for ourselves.
