How often do we check our Facebook? Our twitter? Our e-mails? Calculate the amount of hours we spend online. We check our notifications before the prayer, after the prayer & all through-out the day.
This was the habit of the Sahaba except with the Qur’an. Subhan’Allah. It is said if you want to talk to Allah – pray. If you want Allah to talk to you – read Qur’an.
How often are we listening to Him? Learning from His Divine Wisdom? Trying to implement the teachings of the Prophet’s into our daily lives? How hard are we trying?
“الصبر هو شفاء في كل شئ” Patience is a cure for everything. There’s no doubt that it is a challenge, whether you are learning Arabic like me or read it in your native language – it takes time & effort. Don’t give up. Keep learning.
Aa’ishah (RA), relates that the Prophet (sallAllahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) said:
“Verily the one who recites the Qur’an beautifully, smoothly, and precisely, he will be in the company of the noble and obedient angels. And as for the one who recites with difficulty, stammering or stumbling through its verses, then he will have TWICE that reward.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
This hadith proves that people who are not well versed in the Arabic language or have other difficulties in reciting the Qur’an, get even a higher reward for reciting the Quran in Arabic for their extra effort. So they should never feel down about not being able to recite as well for they will be given double the reward.
